Up dos are super convenient for busy wedding days.  You can get your wig styled even days before the event and skip the hustle and bustle of getting your hair done as well as the many other things you need to do that day.

It’s important to find a wig before this happens so you can get used to wearing it. It also means it will be easier to find a wig that matches your current style and color. In case your hair falls out sooner than you expect, you’ll be ready.   There are many benefits of wearing a wig. Wearing a wig allows you to be in control of whether you want to share the details of your hair loss or if you want to keep it private. A good quality human hair wig won’t need much styling. You can also prestyle your wig days in advance, and be ready with picture perfect hair at a moment’s notice. High quality human hair wigs can also be dyed and highlighted just like your own hair.

 

 

Some things to be aware of while shopping for a wig  

 

 

 

  • If you are purchasing your wig before your hair falls out the size may change slightly. At Freeda we have a professional fitter on staff that will customize the fit if the sizing changes after the hair falls out.  Our wigs also have adjustable tabs in the back.

  • At Freeda’s we will also add some of your own hair to the hairline of the wig, so hold on to a lock of hair. It is comforting to be able to have your own hair on your wig.

  • Remember to get a prescription for a cranial prosthesis to submit to your insurance. Most insurance companies make reimbursements for medically necessary wigs.

  • Your wig will often qualify for a tax deduction as well.

As the seasons change the urge to try new things and update styles comes along with the change. Styles change from sandals to boots, from tees to coats, and from ice cream to hot cocoa.

The trends of hair styles and hair color are no different. Tones become more muted and less bright. Here is a color change we are really excited about here at Freeda wigs.

 

Sombré

    Ombré it seems is still a ubiquitous trend that isn’t going anywhere. So many find the trend on the wilder side, more flamboyant, fit for the fashion risk takers and the bold.

Enter Sombré; as the name suggests, sombré is a soft, more subtle version of ombré. Sombré is slight lightening of the hair from root to tip, a style that works even with blonde colored hair. It stays within 2 shades of the root color, a small change that makes a vast difference. Sombré says goodbye to obvious roots and thick streaks of color, and hello to fine, understated lift in color.

We love this new trend, perfect for wig wearers not ready to commit to big changes in their wigs. For those who are even more commitment-phobic try rooting- just the slighted darkening of the hair at the roots.

Summer Highlights and Colors 

 

 

When people think of summer hair it often goes hand and hand with lighter locks.  In the past our customers have asked us for brighter blondes and extra highlights as soon as the weather starts to become warmer. This year the trends have changed.

 

Summer hair in 2016 is different then we have seen in a while.  While beach blonde and baby blonde is still a current trend, it’s on the back burner this season. This season is all about coppery red, babylights in buttercream, and rose gold hair.

 

 

Coppery Red

For a long time our customers requested ashy wigs that lacked red tones. Freeda wigs are made with 100% virgin European hair which generally has redder tones to them.  Although ashy colors have been the trend, red tones compliment all skin shades and look good on everyone.

We love how Emma Stone carries her copper colored hair. If making a full red commitment scares you, you can also add coppery highlights to your mane as seen in our customers wigs shown here.

The middle photo showcases our Riva Short wig in color 6 with added copper highlights. Our stylist added soft waves to complete this gorgeous look.  On the right you see our Atara wig in color 14/8. The color 14/8 is a blonde with strawberry tones, usually with small streaked highlights.

 

 

 

 

 

Buttercream Babylights

We first discussed Babylights in the post seen here. Babylights are those barely there highlights you see in young children that fade as they grow older. Babylights are a natural looking highlight verses the ombre trend that has been so popular.

Buttercream is the color one shade brighter than platinum. We think buttercream on hair is better than buttercream on cupcakes any day. The babylights on the Freeda wig shown is our Olivia in color 16/10.

Rose Gold hair

 

Rose gold hair is a trend rumored to be inspired by an Instagram filter, imagine that. Rose gold is the gorgeous color that has just a touch of pink to it, but yet is still blonde with pinky tones instead of red tones.

Jew In The City: Freeda Wigs Makeover

Freeda Wigs and Jew in The City have formed a partnership in order to create excitement over the use of real human wigs, specifically in the Orthodox Jewish community. Allison Josephs, the founder and director of Jew In The City, has been working on Jewish Outreach programs for over a decade and hopes to continue her mission through Jew In The City. Essentially, their mission is to reeducate non-Orthodox Jews, as well as the non-Jewish community as a whole, in the real practices of Orthodox Jews, eventually breaking away from the stereotypes found in current popular culture. Allison has been mentioned in numerous publications and was named one of NJOP’s Top Ten Jewish Influencers in 2012, and we couldn’t be more excited about our partnership.

 

The Freeda Wigs Makeover with Jew in the City is an excellent example of one of these outreach projects. Allison worked directly with us to choose a winner that would receive a new hair wig for women handpicked for her style and look. There are currently two episodes of Freeda Wigs Makeover with Allison of Jew in the City, and we hope to continue to make more over the course of the next year! Our first winners could not be happier with the results, and giving back to the community is a major aspect of the Freeda Wigs philosophy.
